A view count under 600 suggests some of you may not have heard Tim Hus’s “Hockeytown”, the title track of his 2010 album. You’re missing out!
The subject matter and country-Canadiana sound invite favorable comparison with “Stompin’ Tom” Connors, in whose tradition the entire Hus oeuvre resides, and about whom Hus recorded “Man With the Black Hat” (2002). If you like catchy, straightforward songs about truck driving, beer hauling, lumber felling, mining, and other scenes of blue-collar life up north, you’ll find plenty to enjoy among Tim Hus’s half-dozen LPs.
